Welcome to the Clydebank Golf Society Website.

The Clydebank Golf Society was formed by a group of friends who played snooker together at the Boulevard Snooker Club in the late 1980's. Many of the founder members still play in Society events to this day. The first outing was to Routenburn in Largs in 1987 and other outings followed. Indeed by 1990 the golf had superseded the snooker and, in that year, the Clydebank Golf Society (CGS) was officially named at an outing to Clydebank & District Golf Club (Hardgate). The original trophy, still played for to this day, was purchased by the founder members and is played for once a year in the stableford format. The founder members were: Donny Anderson,  Andy Anderson,  Robin Crawford, Pat Kelly, Raymond Murray, Paul Melvin, Gerry McLaughlin, Joe Robb and Jim Crawford.

I'm delighted to report that many of the current members played in that first "official" event at Hardgate namely; John Carrick, Stevie Frew, Mark Rankin and  Davie Todd.

Pat Kelly was the first winner of a CGS outing that day playing on home soil.

Membership was originally open to those who lived, or worked, in the Clydebank area but in recent years the links to Clydebank have become more tenuous as members have relocated across Scotland.
